Geisinger Behavioral Health Centers

Moosic’s Trusted Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Mental health conditions can significantly affect how a person feels, thinks and views the world around them. Intense emotions, such as sadness, hopelessness and irritability, can make it hard to fully engage in life. Negative or distorted thinking patterns can hinder one’s ability to focus, make decisions or see things clearly.

At Geisinger Behavioral Health Center Northeast, located in Moosic, Pennsylvania, we offer a partial hospitalization program (PHP) for adolescents ages 13-17 and adults age 18 and older who are experiencing these types of symptoms. Through structured, evidence-based care, we aim to help individuals improve their mental and emotional well-being.

About Our Partial Hospitalization Program in Moosic, Pennsylvania

The partial hospitalization program at Geisinger may be ideal for adolescents and adults who require more support than traditional outpatient therapy provides but do not need round-the-clock monitoring. This option is available for first-time patients and for those who are transitioning from an inpatient setting.

Those who participate in our PHP can access essential care during the day and return to the comfort of their homes in the evening. This allows them to stay connected with their life outside of the program.

Throughout their time with us, teens and adults have the opportunity to work with our team of professionals, which includes:

  • Board-certified psychiatrists
  • Psychologists
  • Certified physician assistants
  • Certified nurse practitioners
  • Psychiatric nurses
  • Behavioral health technicians
  • Case managers
  • Mental health and creative arts therapists
  • Occupational therapists
  • Dietitians

Additionally, patients can receive guidance from peer supports, individuals who have gone through similar mental health struggles and can attest that healing is possible.

Adolescents and adults take part in programming three to five days each week. Over the course of approximately seven to 12 weeks, they can explore a variety of therapeutic modalities and develop practical skills for daily life. Group therapy sessions are a key component of our PHP because they allow participants to gain deeper insight into themselves and find strength in shared stories.
